Capacity Building and Enhancement My Pathway to Training and Teaching includes 15 years experience in capacity building in 20 countries of the South, including both formal and non-formal contexts. As a trainer and teacher I strive to;   "Develop and nurture the necessary skills, knowledge and attitudes in people so they feel empowered and confident and capable of making positive and constructive changes in their own, and other people’s, lives and which will contribute to making the world a fairer, more just and sustainable place."   I believe in doing this in a pluralistic and inclusive manner, one that is both fun and engaging, transforms individuals capable of critical reflection, negotiation, mediation and communicating their ideas effectively.   Training My experience in adult education and training includes: Participation; PRA/PLA; Stakeholder and Gender Analysis; Community Engagement and Development; Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation. University Teaching I taught for five years at the University of the South Pacific (1996-2000) where I was Lecturer and Senior Lecturer responsible a range of diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as postgraduate supervision. I have considerable experience in Distance and Flexible Learning, both as a developer and user. I have developed distance education materials and manuals for a range of undergraduate courses delivered to students throughout the Pacific region in collaboration with the USP DFL Unit. I have also undertaken postgraduate courses in rural development and community development from the Universities of London and Deakin through distance mode. My teaching experience also includes periods as a tutor and demonstrator in the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sydney.
